A prosthetic receiving chamber is a lumen-like part of a prosthetic limb that accommodates the amputee's stump. It is a connecting part between the stump and the prosthesis, and has the function of bearing weight and suspending the prosthesis.
The prosthesis receiving chamber generally has ABS resin, PP sheet and carbon fiber three kinds of materials. Among them, ABS resin is acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, is a general purpose resin, after modification (adding additives or alloy and other methods) to improve the performance of ABS is an engineering plastic, ABS alloy production, variety, wide application, is the main modified plastic. ABS is a light yellow granular or beaded opaque resin, non-toxic, tasteless, low water absorption, with good comprehensive physical and mechanical properties, such as excellent electrical properties, wear resistance, dimensional stability, chemical resistance and surface gloss, and easy to process and form.
The receiving chamber is an important part of the prosthesis, it plays the role of force transmission and control of the prosthesis movement. Functional prosthesis receptions must simultaneously have wearing comfort, force transmission and control. In addition, The acceptance chamber is the most important and critical part of the prosthesis, which connects the stump and the prosthesis. The success of the acceptance chamber will affect the function of the whole prosthesis.
